I’m kind of loving this guy right now. I have always had this affinity for Nintendo music, or as most people call it nowadays, 8-bit. I guess it just reminds me of my youth. I used to love the music on my Nintendo and gameboy. I remember, while playing Tetris, turning the little volume wheel all the way up so i could listen to the 8-bit version of Tchaikovsky’s “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy”. Or the soundtrack’s to the Castlevania games were just brilliant. If you want to be brought back to those magical days when the only things that mattered were high scores, take a listen:
PDF Format’s Myspace (listen to “Female Glee”)

I’ve been checking out your blog for just a few months (I’m from Justin Vernon’s hometown of Eau Claire, WI and stumbled across your blog while Googling for Bon Iver a while back) and I have to thank you for introducing me to so much music I wouldn’t have discovered otherwise.
I’d like to recommend a band to you…I think they’re new…called Synthar. I think you’ll really like their style…kind of a folk Americana synth/electronic band. Check them out, if you’d like.
By the way, Bon Iver is playing a hometown show on December 22nd at the State Theatre in Eau Claire, WI. Should be magical…
Thank you for reading, I am glad to be appreciated!
I am definitely going to check out Synthar, as we probably have very similar taste in music.
You’re so lucky to get to see Bon Iver in his (and your) hometown. I’m sure it will be a very special show. I have seen him play once and it was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. I am seeing him again next month in New York City at Town Hall. Really excited for that, I just hope it’s as good as the last time I saw him. It’s a rather large venue and it’s assigned seats so I’m a bit nervous. But how could a Bon Iver show be bad right?
This is actually a really cool song, it almost sounds epic. It’s exactly like the old nintendo themes, except it has more structure and really pulls you in. Nice find.
