Just wow. So the new Mew album will be called No More Stories are Told Today I’m Sorry They Washed Away No More Stories the World is Grey I’m Tired Let’s Wash Away. That has to be some kind of record for longest album title ever. I think I may be more excited for this than any other album being released this year (maybe even more so than for the new Regina Spektor and Imogen Heap albums…) Only two more months.
**Update**
-Mew has just posted a brand new song called “Introducing Palace Players” from their new album on their myspace page. Click here to listen.
It’s been awhile since we’ve checked in on Imogen and how her new album is coming along. It seems like she has been working on it forever. The good news is she is still video blogging away, keeping her fans in the loop the whole way. In her latest episode (number 35) she talks about a guest singer that she asked to appear on her album as well as giving us a few more previews of some new songs. Check it out:
Now that 2008 is gone for good it is time to get excited about the new year. I know many people who have said that 2008 wasn’t a good year for music. To these people I say you are crazy. 2008 for me was an incredible year for music. But that is all behind us. We can now look ahead to what is to come.
Thanks to Pitchfork who has compiled a list of albums being released this winter, we now have a better idea of what is to come. And while I haven’t heard of many of the artists or bands on the list there were many that I did know. Here are just a few of the upcoming albums that I am dying to hear:
The lovely miss Heap has graced us with yet another video blog discussing her upcoming new solo album. In case you haven’t heard, for some time now Imogen has been recording these short video blogs in which she has been talking about the recording process of her upcoming album. Each video blog gets me more and more excited because it’s starting to come together and you can really get a sense of what the album is going to sound like. Her latest video blog, the 25th in the series, is full of snippets from songs that will most likely appear on the new album. Check it out:
Imogen has also contributed a song to the new Heroes Soundtrack called “Not Now But Soon”, take a listen:
This may be old but I just stumbled upon it and thought it was pretty cool! check it out:
And in other Imogen news, it has come to my attention that she has been working diligently on a new solo album for our listening pleasure. Apparently it will be ready by the end of September 2008. That is pretty exciting news. She has also been documenting the creation of this as of yet untitled album through video blogs. She is currently on vblog number 24…check it out:
