Wooden ArmsWell I think the good news of the day is that Patrick Watson has released some information regarding his forthcoming album release. I’m not 100% sure, but the above picture may just be the new album cover for Watson’s (or as I called him P-Wat’s) new album. The album will definitely be called Wooden Arms, and you can expect to see it in stores on April 28th in Canada, May 5th in the US, May 8th in Australia, May 11th in the UK and Europe and June 24th in Asia. All of the info as well as a brand new, and may I say quite fantastic new song can be found on the new Wooden Arms teaser site found here. Mister Watson also has a slew of tour dates coming up. I have had the chance to see this Montreal native in concert once, opening for I can’t remember who. Maybe it was The Dears at Metropolis many years ago. Anyways, I am so excited to hear this baby. Along with the new Mew and Midlake records this is one of my most anticipated releases of 2009.

I stumbled upon this pretty decent remix of the song “Roscoe” done by Erol Alkan and Richard Norris, aka Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve. I still like the original version better…but here it is, take a listen:
